Microsoft names Satya Nadella as next Thompson as chairman
 
SEATTLE (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp (NSQ: MSFT - News) named company veteran Satya Nadella as its next chief executive officer on Tuesday, ending a longer-than-expected search for a new leader after Steve Ballmer announced his intention to retire in August. Nadella is only the third CEO in Microsoft's 39-year history, following co-founder Bill Gates and Ballmer. Microsoft also said John Thompson, lead independent director, would succeed Gates as chairman. Gates will assume a new role as technology adviser and retain a seat on the board, the company said in a statement.

Mumbai, Feb 4 (IANS) Composer A.V. Prafullchandra says he enjoyed composing music for director Rahul Jadhav's Marathi film "Hello Nandan", which was unveiled recently, as the latter gave him a free hand to show his creativity. Singers like Neeti Mohan and Amit Raj have sung songs for the soundtrack that was launched Feb 1. "I believe in my music rather than words. Rahul Jadhav noticed this and left me alone with concepts and demands. I loved his technique. He is open and not strict," Prafullchandra told IANS. "While doing background, I added a song without asking Rahul about it. When he came for the sitting, he loved it. This is how the song 'Zule Zule' was born," he added.
